Giorgio Armani S/S 2011

Today I had the chance to watch Armani Spring Summer show, even sat down and got an Armani cadeaux, lucky me.
The collection, La Femme Bleue, mainly consisted of black and deep blue, beautifully embellished by sequins, even all over some pieces. Satin, lace and transparent fabrics were used. Skirts were long, draping over dresses and shirts, loose but well tailored trousers, turbans on models’ heads yet bold cleavage, pointed toe flats and heels, with the image of a desert on the background, it felt like we were having a very fashionable couple of moments on the sands of Morocco.
There were lots of celebrities there too; Megan Fox, George Clooney, Elisabetta Canalis, Wesley Sneijder (and wife) and some more Italian socialites whom I don’t know but understand that they are obviosly famous.
Here are some pictures I could take with my not so professional camera, enjoy…

Versus S/S 2011

Versus S/S 2011

The show, which started almost 50 minutes late at the Versace Theater, was very intense with the playground decoration and children voices.

I personally am not a fan of tartan, but its combination with the floral prints and the layering-draping was appropriate. Compared to last season’s collection, which obviously made Versus look like a sub-Versace-brand, spring summer collection screams out Christoper Kane. Not to forget the obvious inspiration from Celia Birtwell (for this comment I have to thank my very fashion forward show crasher friend Lucy:)). The use of colors and pleats was, unsurprisingly, splendid.

I am really eager to see what will come up next from this collaboration..
