Le Noir

le noirIt’s one of the adventures of interior design, if not executed correctly – or at the wrong place, can easily turn into la déepression. But when done right, it’s l’élégance all over. If you don’t have the brass to do it, you can try one wall or even half wall and / or really dark gray instead of black, which actually looks like black but under sunlight shows its gray edge. How do I know? I painted half of my hallway walls really really dark gray despite the oppositions of other people and now everybody is crazy about it. My next project is to paint one wall of the  bedroom black – or better, use a chalkboard vinyl as wallpaper. Afterall, black is always the new black.

  1. hey what a cool post -once again! I had always been scared to have anything black in my room, never mentioning painting black or dark grey walls! but i here i can really see it looks really good and it makes the room actually more cozy! :)))

I’d love to hear your opinion on my blog from Switzerland please! xxx, E

  2. Love the photos in this post. I have been toying with the idea of painting the chimney breast in my dinning room black. After this post I will definitely be giving it a go. Thank you!

  3. Wow, this looks amazing! Black has never looked so cosy and inviting. I especially love the sink with the mirror and photos/postcards/posters etc on the wall.
