There are many things happening on the runways of Milan this season that seems to be changing my ongoing opinion about the Italian fashion and the creativity of the designers, or the lack thereof, like the shift change of Dundas from Pucci to Cavalli bringing a breath of fresh air for two different fashion houses, Gucci standing on its own legs (and in its own decade) after years, Prada back on the wheel and so on. But nothing impressed me in terms of innovation and unexpected design quality as much as Gabriele Colangelo did.
He ingeniously experimented with textiles such as velvet, goat fur and sheared silk threads, played with proportion and came up with a rather enticing collection. My personal favorite so far.
