There are things you splurge on, and there are things you don’t. A slide with fur upper belongs in the latter group. So what do you do when you are dying to have it (it being the Senso Izalia sandals) but don’t want to spend a penny because you know you won’t be wearing them for the third, maybe even the second time? You get a double sided tape (I used this one from American Apparel), some vintage fur of an old stole (got mine for $5 from a thrift shop) and good old Zara double strap sandals. Take them off next year and they’ll be just as standard as last year. . White long high neck cami top Asos (similar here & here) . White cropped pants Zara (similar here & here) . Anyone who had their fair share of online shopping knows the joy of finding out the seller of an amazing shop with fabulous things inside is living in the same country as you. What you don’t experience often is when they live in the same city as you, couple of blocks away and they end up being your friend at the end of a 3 hour “dress exchange” excuse over tea. Now I don’t know for which I’m happier; this marvellous sweater fringe hem dress from TOKEN MTL or meeting the even lovelier co-owner of the shop, which probably is one of the coolest gals of Montreal. Thank you Tamara & hope you like your beloved dress on me! . Vintage white fringe hem sweater dress TOKEN MTL (similar here & here) . Black fedora Urban Outfitters (similar here & here) . This is the first month of Canadian style destination Smart Set’s 1 piece 10 styles project and I’m a happy ambassador of the brand! The concept is basically 10 different bloggers creating a whole and unique Smart Set look all including the item of the month; in this case this versatile long cardigan that can be worn as a kimono, a jacket or even a sweater, letting you layer up and down. . Last Halloween contributed to my wardrobe with a pair of American Apparel disco pants which I fooled myself into buying as a wardrobe staple that I’d eventually keep on wearing, didn’t work out. Not because the pants are ugly or uncomforable or anything, it’s just not a suitable style for me (big ass + shiny pants = not a good equation). This year’s obligatory costume purchase was this dress (see how I subtly choose costumes that force me to buy clothing instead of, well, costumes) and as of day 1 I’m already ahead of last year in terms of purchase justification. . I always stand true to what I believe in. If I made a post promoting track soled creeper loafers and oxfords, I’m going to embrace it even though it means telling my husband for the hundreth time that I’ve spent our money on a pair of shoe that he’ll, yet again, very much hate. That’s the spirit you’d want in a shopaholic. . Grid print pants H&M (similar here & here) . Black wool biker jacket H&M (similar here & here) .
