So Millennial

One of the best feelings in life (besides peeing when you have to and drinking water when you’re thirsty) (or seeing that one item you’ve been lusting after for so long on sale) (OK there are many amazing feelings but this is also good) is finding something hanging in your wardrobe from years ago not only into which you can fit but also is super trendy. I must admit I haven’t worn these “Millennial Pink” pants a lot since I bought them but now seems like the perfect time to give them another chance. I feel like Princess Bubblegum in a cool oversized blazer. . Checked blazer Stylenanda (similar here & here) . Pink tapered pants H&M (similar here) . Khaki suede slingback flats Vintage . I Never Expire

I always believe there’s a funny plot twist in every person’s life story, something that happens to them very ironically when they think they’re the last person it can happen to. To me that thing was getting married. Despite the endless – sometimes subliminal – pressure you get all your life as a girl to get married, to have kids and live a “proper” life, I kept on chanting Anouk’s “Nobody’s Wife” like it was my personal anthem. I kept on laughing when my friends tell me despite what I say, I’ll be the first one to get married. I couldn’t be in serious relationships and marriage simply wasn’t fit for me. Then, at 19 years old, I met the love of my life. After dating for 7 years we got married when we were 26 years old. And yes, we were the first ones among our friends to get married. It wasn’t a splashy proposal and a show off wedding. It wasn’t because we had to get married because we’ve been together for so …

Harriet

I think there was only one way to make a slip dress look cooler and even more sexy at the same time and Millie +Lou managed to find it: hot pressing harriet prints on a vintage ivory satin apron dress. I’m so insanely in love with this dress I even got over my “wearing sleepwear outside” phobia (FOWSO?) – I needed a trench to make it more city-friendly but I’m taking this baby to vacation and there will be numerous nights where it will be just me and her (and some underwear probably…maybe). . The Fashion Medley for Michael Hill

Spirits Bay

This year I had to postpone all my summer plans (for a little while) thanks to my huge move, but as a Mediterranean at heart, summer starts within before it does anywhere else. Which is why the minute the temperature hits above 20 degrees Celsius, my style changes from structured minimal to clean and laid back almost-bohemian. Leather cross bodies are traded for wicker baskets, bras disappear, anything that touches my skin is doomed to dust until September and of course, my jewelry gets a lot more joyful. Michael Hill‘s Spirits Bay collection is inspired by the form of Totorere shells, which are worn down by the elements until only the strongest part of the shell remains. Designer Christine Hill’s fascination with these shells began 50 years ago and since then she kept on collecting and sketching them; searching for the purest, most graceful form to transform into a celebration of resiliency and strength. Each piece in the Spirits Bay collection represents a remarkable journey: A masterpiece of nature, shaped by the elements, brought to …

Millie + Lou

This year I’ve become one of the ambassadors and insiders of Etsy Canada, which quite frankly was a no brainer for me the minute I got invited. I spend I don’t know how many hours every day on Etsy looking for handmade home accents or vintage clothes and furniture that I already felt like an honorary Etsy insider anyway. What changed is now I’m more focused on Canadian Etsy shops and this shift of focus made me discover some amazing boutiques – like the incredible Millie + Lou. This Vancouver based Etsy gem focuses on one of a kind reworks, which means they only use vintage items and recycled textiles for their garments and then use heat transfer techniques to create unbelievable prints on said garments, resulting in one of a kind artwork like ethical clothes. I now own many items from them, but this white denim jacket with an Alexander Calder inspired print at the back has to be my favorite. I really don’t know if I’m cool enough to pull it off but …
