Big Fish

No surprises here, of course I hopped on board with the fishnet tight thing (I actually have a regular fishnet pair from years ago in my drawer, never been used, don’t remember why I bought, not questioning) but I needed something more special, something weirder, like the whole body thing I saw at the Proenza Schouler show last season. A fishnet but for big fish only, because that’s how I do (and can eat, actually). . Dark grey wool blazer H&M (similar here & here) . Ivory Parker jeans Citizens of Humanity (similar here & here) . Connect The Dots

Look ma I’m wearing a dress, a maxi one with polka dots and frills no less! And the weird thing is, I’m not feeling girly at all. I’m wearing metallic, heeled boots with my ruffled dress and I’m not feeling girly. Is it the oversized trench? Is it the Vetements effect? I know I’m not that cool, what is it that makes sloppy girlish look this cool? I don’t know the answers but I know I’m more comfortable than I’ve ever been. . Ruffle Up, Hoodie Down

I don’t know what fashion is doing to me but this skirt is not the first or the last ruffled item I bought this season and even though it still feels weird to me to wear anything this girly, it’s weirdly not weird enough. The oversized hoodie and sneakers do help of course, I can’t imagine myself in a high heel-sexy blouse combo but I still applaud myself for getting in an out of this style challenge alive. Even though I seem a bit angry about it. . Ivory cropped hoodie H&M (similar here & here) . Navy ruffled skirt Zara (similar here & here) . Black sneakers Vans (or get them here & here)

Turn It Around

One of the happiest “fashion” moments of my life was when I learned, two years ago, that COS was opening in Montreal. Before that I was literally saving money to shop from the brand whenever I’m in Europe so it was unreal for me that I would have access whenever I want. I love it so much that if I’m not supposed to shop I don’t enter the shop at all because I know that I will buy at least one thing every time I go in. Every single item is so well tailored with the right fabrics that it’s no coincidence whenever someone asks me where I bought something the answer is almost always, COS. This dress is my last favorite and it fits so freakin well that even when I wear it backwards it still looks good (yes it’s backwards in these photos and I didn’t realize it until I came back home). . Reitmans x Meghan Markle

Newsflash, I’m a former lawyer who watches Suits. And even though it has become a little soap-operaish lately there is one thing that hasn’t changed about the show: Rachel Zane is hot. Like “my God I never looked like that when I was a lawyer” hot, “I’m a blogger now and I still don’t look that hot” hot; so when I heard that her second capsule collection for Reitmans is up for grabs I decided to merge her sexy work pieces with my daily tomboy style and see what happens. Here’s what happened: 1) my almost decade long personal ban on leggings is officially lifted after wearing these butter-soft faux leather pants, 2) the boyfriend shirt that was created to tuck in high waisted pencil skirts and trousers work just as perfectly as an oversized top when sized up and turned backwards thanks to its loose design. The collection launches in-store and online on November 3rd but you can sign up here to be the first to know about the exclusive pre‑sale and for a …
