Millie + Lou

This year I’ve become one of the ambassadors and insiders of Etsy Canada, which quite frankly was a no brainer for me the minute I got invited. I spend I don’t know how many hours every day on Etsy looking for handmade home accents or vintage clothes and furniture that I already felt like an honorary Etsy insider anyway. What changed is now I’m more focused on Canadian Etsy shops and this shift of focus made me discover some amazing boutiques – like the incredible Millie + Lou. This Vancouver based Etsy gem focuses on one of a kind reworks, which means they only use vintage items and recycled textiles for their garments and then use heat transfer techniques to create unbelievable prints on said garments, resulting in one of a kind artwork like ethical clothes. I now own many items from them, but this white denim jacket with an Alexander Calder inspired print at the back has to be my favorite. I really don’t know if I’m cool enough to pull it off but …

Lazy & Lazier

Winter makes me lazy, and I’m willing to bet the end result is far more sloppy than you or anyone you know has ever looked during winter. I’m talking about you wouldn’t recognize me on the street because all I want to wear are wool leggings with short UGGs, long puffy jacket with a beanie and double scarves and I want to wear this everyday. I usually lose my willing to go out, dress up, socialize or even go grocery shopping so it’s no surprise that my outfits get a lot more basic during the obligatory winter-tire months. The surprising thing is, as the rest of the world aims to up their layering game I’m trying to wear as less layers as possible (less layers = less fainting on subway) which means fabrics like pure wool or cashmere dominate my wardrobe the most and the color scheme pretty much limits itself to white tops and black skinny jeans. Winter breaks me people, I’m broken. And this is my basic winter bitch look, as pretty looking …

Combat Winter

I know these boots are called after military wear but don’t you think there was a little, just a little nuance in it that implied people should wear these while combating winter? The minute it snowed (which is now doomsday in my world, despite some people that still get as happy as a kid when the land turns white) I knew for a fact that for the next – oh I don’t know – 4 months, these are all I’ll be wearing but I was determined to make the outfit a little more me, a little more fashionable at least. Here’s to the first of many, many snowy, slushy, icy outfit photos! . Camel sweater COS (similar here & here) . Light brown teddy coat Front Row Shop (similar here & here) . Turn It Around

One of the happiest “fashion” moments of my life was when I learned, two years ago, that COS was opening in Montreal. Before that I was literally saving money to shop from the brand whenever I’m in Europe so it was unreal for me that I would have access whenever I want. I love it so much that if I’m not supposed to shop I don’t enter the shop at all because I know that I will buy at least one thing every time I go in. Every single item is so well tailored with the right fabrics that it’s no coincidence whenever someone asks me where I bought something the answer is almost always, COS. This dress is my last favorite and it fits so freakin well that even when I wear it backwards it still looks good (yes it’s backwards in these photos and I didn’t realize it until I came back home). . Stretch Armstrong

As someone who always stretched out the sleeves of every single long sleeve top she ever had, this oversized sweater trend makes me happy more than anyone else. I don’t know if it’s the cosiness, feeling of sloppiness or simply because it balances my body proportions but I can’t get enough of the stretch armstrong look. .
