Tale of Two Garments

I’ve been into this dress over pants thing for a long time, as long as 25 years to be more accurate, since they let me dress up by myself and I wore my strappy summer dresses over sweaters (another very fashionable twist I added to my toddler style) and pants and refused to take them off. As the years passed that experimental spirit is replaced by desire to add creative layers whilst subtly hiding my thighs and even though being short is a huge obstacle for this style, I still go for it from time to time. A Good Deal

I love a luxury consignment website much as the next girl, buying high quality luxury items you’ve been lusting after for so long for a fraction of the price and a guarantee for authenticity is nothing short of a dream, but the USD-CAD conversion rate and the custom taxes started to kill me a while ago so I had to say a sad goodbye to the opportunity to shop good for less. Same goes for consigning, the cost to send items is high enough to make you give up or try to sell your stuff yourself, struggling on second hand websites and dealing with people and crazy offers. Then, god answered my prayers with Mcouture, a Canada based(!!) luxury consignment website that sells a selection of pre-loved designer pieces from high-end brands up to 80% off. Yes, that means a place you know you’ll always find exclusive luxury on an insane sale and not exorbitant shipping and tax prices. So, to celebrate their launch, I decided to sell my beloved Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. It …

Blast From The Past

I have to confess at this point that sometimes, when a photo shoot doesn’t turn out exactly the way I hoped, I save them for future emergency uses and move on to something else. I never actually had to use those emergency shots, until now. Despite the relatively warm winter we’ve been having, I was really unlucky about my photo shoot times. One weekend polar vortex, the other one out of the city, next one freezing rain. And since I didn’t want to leave the blog so long without an outfit post, I checked my emergency stash and liked this look definitely more than I did at the time. So here’s me, couple of months ago. . Brown wool coat Stylenanda (similar here & here) . Grey wool pants Oak + Fort (similar here & here) . Black oxfords Zara (similar here & here) . Best of 2015

Have you ever had one of those years where it felt like it lasted a lifetime, like almost everything you remember doing happened in just the last 365 days? 2015 has been like that for me in terms of my career, I feel like I started my blog this year and it just evolved and developed even though it’s been 6 years already. This was the year I got featured as the it-girl on Vogue Turkey’s February issue, the year I was one of the instagram users to follow on Cosmopolitan Turkey’s September issue, the year I was on The Main MTL, Flare Mag, multiple posts of NY Mag The Cut, Blue is in Fashion This Year and other websites & blogs, the year I got thousands of repins on Pinterest, the year I raised my Instagram followers from 3k to almost 30k – which was the biggest accomplishment of all on my end. I’m usually a pessimist and I undermine everything I ever do so please bear with  me as I humbly brag for …

Indian Summer Lovin’

This is a very unique outfit post because for the first time since the beginning of the blog I didn’t dress up on purpose and we didn’t leave the house to do the photoshoot. It was this thanksgiving Monday which miraculously fell on the one and only indian summer day and I just wore my comfiest, lightest and actually, favorite pieces of the year – probably for the last time like this – and my husband had the camera with him because Montreal is unbelievably beautiful right now. When we bumped into this perfect wall we both knew we had to take some photos, it’s a lot more casual than what I usually post on the blog but this is actually me on a very regular day of walking for hours. .
