Laura Guarie

Buenos Aires based artist Laura Guarie is my latest inspiration source, with her retro collages blended with graphic illustrations influenced by European history, art, architecture and design. Still a graphic design student, Laura’s work has been featured on a lot of major design websites and magazines. There’s even an awesome tattoo design in there somewhere, her lines are so on point.

Lucy Macleod Illustrations

As we (Turkish people) are having one of the busiest agendas ever (the biggest corruption scandal since the foundation of our republic and in return, instead of resigning, our government is interfering with the legal system and disqualifying all the prosecutors who have been carrying out the investigations… you can read about it here) I figured the blog may need something cheerful and creative to light up (at least my) mood. Lucy Macleod is a a Scottish illustrator whose work have been featured in publications like The Times, Nylon Magazine, Marie Claire, The Independent and her customers include Warner Brothers, La Perla and Levi Strauss. It wasn’t always so easy for her though,  she got rejected from everywhere she first submitted her work and got ripped off in her first work with -in her words- “The Shmindependent” (read more here). She studied painting and then found relief in illustration by chance. Her weapon of choice is charcoal when she is drawing from life with precision and ease, then she adds color or collage to jazz it …

Disturbingly Colorful World of Alexandra Levasseur

The work of Canadian illustrator Alexandra Levasseur is inspired by her life experiences in Canada, Costa Rica and Spain. Her illustrations are based on her emotional and environmental circumstances of each moment. Her works are like the things you dream about when you have so many things in mind; disturbing, confusing, irregular yet dreamily beautiful and mesmerising. You can catch her work at Galerie Roccia – Montreal starting from June 15th.

Cecilia Carlstedt Illustrations

Cecilia Carlstedt is an illustrator from Sweden whose whimsical water color and charcoal illustrations are already a fashion favourite – she has worked with a wide range of clients such as H&M, La Perla, Swarovski, Paul Smith, Victoria Secret, Martini Gold, Elle, Vogue, New York Times and W magazine. I see the perfect French women in her work; soft brush strokes which are defined with sharp and snooty silhouettes.

Kätlin Kaljuvee Illustrations

Kätlin Kaljuvee is an illustrator and fashion designer from Tallinn, Estonia. Her exclusive hand-drawn prints are inspired by diversity and beauty of life, side by side with tragic forces of nature; combining destructive, creative moods and human existence inside of it. Kätlin has exhibited her work all over the world, including at the Shangghai Expo and the Deign Museum of Helsinki.
